Tramlines Reveal Stage Splits And Apply To Play Winners To Bolster Their Standout 2024 Cast

Excitement continues to build as the days get longer and warmer. Summer is almost and in preparation, Tramlines continues to drip feed Sheffielders with more and more news about this year's standout event. Today's announcement sees the festival provide confirmation on the stage splits for this years' edition, alongside announcing the much anticipated of the Apply To Play competition.

As we are all aware, there will be some giants of British music gracing Hillsborough Park this July, with headliners Paolo Nutini, Jamie T and Snow Patrol being joined by icons like Bombay Bicycle Club, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Example and, of course, The Human League.

Outside of the headliners and sub-headliners on Sarah Nulty's Main Stage, the only other acts that had a definite place were T'Other Stage headliners in The Charlatans, Holly Humberstone and Yard Act. With today's news though, the outlook becomes a lot clearer and those who have snapped up the hottest ticket in town can begin to vaguely plan their weekends.

PEACE

One of the most anticipated pieces of news has come in the form of the headliners taking to The Leadmill Stage. We now know the iconic stage will be headed up by The Mysterines on Friday, Peace on Saturday and The Magic Gang on Sunday. They will be taking to the stage after some of the best up and coming bands in the land, as The Leadmill always offers. Bands like City Parking, Corella and English Teacher will play their part just opposite the Main Stage.

Also hitting up The Leadmill Stage, it has been announced that the winners of Victorious Festival and Truck Festival’s Apply To Play competitions, Jay Dodgson and Sheff Mag favourites Minds Idle have been added to what looks to be the most exciting and varied stage, as we've come to expect.

The biggest announcement though comes in the form of the winners of this year's Apply To Play competition. The overall winner this year has been revealed to be the incredibly talented Barnsley-based singer-songwriter Hannah Rowe and her group of incredibly talented musicians. Out of the 100s of artists that made it on to the shortlist for voting, Hannah was hand-picked as winner by Radio X presenter John Kennedy. Hannah will be joined on the Library Stage by other Apply To Play finalists including alt-electro pop artist Darla Jade (chosen by Amazing Radio), UK rap outfit Tinxshe (selected by Exposed Magazine), Sheffield alt rock indie artist, Sam Scherdel (chosen by BBC Introducing) and more.

There’s even more to be unveiled for the celebratory 16th birthday of Tramlines Festival including what’s in store for the family-friendly area ‘Into the Trees’, and its revamped offering of independent food traders, bespoke craft beer and ale, vintage clothes stores, and roaming entertainment across the site.

Friday tickets have already sold out so the only way to get in for the incredible start to the weekend is to grab a weekend ticket for the party. Tickets are still available from the Tramlines website if you haven't got yours yet, the moment is only a few months away.
