It’s set to be an absolute scorcher this May Bank Holiday and the city centre will be the perfect place to enjoy it!

From Saturday 23rd May-Monday 25th May Sheffield Food Festival is back celebrating its 15th year and it’s set to be bigger than ever. The milestone event will bring around 60 traders, offering some of the best in the street food scene, artisanal products from local vendors, a selection of desserts to die for and an array of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to quench your thirst.

Sheffield Food Festival will not only be taking over the Peace Gardens, Pinstone Street, Fargate, Town Hall and Millennium Square, but also Orchard Square and Leah’s Yard, bringing even more activities to the city centre and plenty of great sun spots to bask in. And it’s not just about the food this year, because Grassroots Sheffield will be bringing 3 days of live music from Sheffield’s best unsigned and emerging artists to the Main Stage.

The Grassroots Main Stage will be in the Peace Gardens with a number of great artists like BBC’s Got What It Takes S5 winner Georgie Mills, bands like The Alchemy and local DJ legend, Tuesday Club’s Andy H. While the new Busking Tent Stage will be on the Fargate and showcasing a mix of local talent curated by Under the Wire, a collective of musicians and singers who met while performing at Porter Cottage.

Of course The Observer didn’t call Sheffield Food Festival the "UK’s Foodie Hotspot" for nothing, festival food favourites Caribbean Fusion, Cow Boy Burgers, Taco Trailer, Venezuelan food by 7 Star Flag, Chef Stef’s comfort soul food, Italian pork sandwich-makers La Porketta and dim sum legends Siu Mai Bar will be returning, along with Yee Kwan Ice Cream and Flippin’ Eck Pancakes. There’s honestly too many street food and dessert vendors to name, but they’ll all be offering food from around the world.

If you’re wanting to treat yourself later, or buy a gift for someone, the Artisanal Market’s the place for you. Traders like Gotham Coffee, AB Gold Rum, Hawkins Distillery and Locksley Distilling will be selling beans and bottles you can take home. And food traders will be offering treats you can debate eating straight away or saving for later. If you tried 4 Eyes Patisseries cronuts, Itadeli’s cannoli’s, Scrumptious by Lucy’s blondies and brownies, or Cookie Smith’s cookie pies last year, you’ll be delighted to know they’ll be back also.

It truly will be a bank holiday weekend event for everyone, whether you’re vegan, veggie, gluten-free, halal, kosher or teetotal they’ll be dietary options for you. Fun activities for kids like award winning face painting by viral TikToker Lizzieland, fun pop-up street football challenges by Yard Ball and of course—fairground rides!

Best of all the festival is free entry, so people can come and go as they please, exploring the festival while listening to live music in the sun. It’s the perfect weekend, so be sure to stop by!
