Win a Whole Year of Film with CINE26 at Showroom Cinema

Sheffield’s Showroom Cinema is giving young film enthusiasts a golden opportunity this autumn – a whole year of free cinema tickets! By simply signing up for their free CINE 26 membership during September or October 2024, anyone aged 16-26 will be entered into a draw to win this amazing prize.

The CINE 26 membership itself is a no-brainer for young film fans. Members get £5 cinema tickets for any regular screenings, any day, any time. Plus, there are fantastic perks like discounts on food and drinks at the Showroom Cafe Bar, free birthday tickets and plenty of exclusive offers and promos to enjoy throughout the year. It’s all part of Showroom’s effort to keep cinema accessible and exciting for young audiences.

To celebrate the new academic year, the cinema is rolling out a lineup of must-see films and special screenings. Here are just a few of our highlights:

The Substance (Sept 20) – Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley star in this twisted body horror that skewers the beauty industry. If you’ve got a stomach for the grotesque and a taste for satire, this one’s for you.

The Outrun (Sept 27) – Starring Saoirse Ronan as a young woman grappling with recovery and returning to her roots in the Orkney Islands, this film is set to be a poignant exploration of identity and healing. Expect breathtaking landscapes and top-tier performances.

Joker: Folie à Deux (Oct 4) – The sequel that no one expected to be a musical but now can’t wait to see. Joaquin Phoenix returns as the iconic Joker, this time alongside Lady Gaga in a fever dream of chaos. Plus, there’s an early ‘Breakfast Club’ screening for those who want to catch it at 9:30 am (with coffee in hand).

Megalopolis (Sept 27) – Francis Ford Coppola’s long-awaited and divisive epic. With a cast led by Adam Driver and Grace VanderWaal, this sprawling, ambitious film is set to spark debates long after the credits roll.

For hardcore fans, freshers’ week also includes a 12-hour marathon of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings extended editions on Sunday, Sept 22. Think you’ve got the stamina to sit through the entire saga?

There are also special events like a film quiz night with Radio 1’s Ali Plumb on Sept 27 and a celebration of all things Mean Girls on Oct 3 – the perfect way to channel your inner Regina George. On top of that, the ‘Odyssey Chinese film festival’ brings a mix of classics and documentaries for those looking to explore international cinema.

With such a packed schedule of screenings, events, and surprises, there’s no better time to sign up for CINE 26 and dive into Sheffield’s vibrant film scene. Don’t miss your chance to win a whole year of free cinema – sign up before October 30 at Showroom Cinema's website here.
